PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

Melissa Webster (Missy) has enjoyed watching the Boston dance scene grow and transform for the past 20 years. After working with many dance companies through performing and teaching, she jumped at the opportunity to create Mosaic Dance Inc. Becoming a nonprofit with 501c3 status was an immediate goal in order to reconnect a partnership with D.E.A. Educational Foundation, which brings free dance to title one school 5th graders. Melissa has extensive experience in teaching dance in public and private schools so cultivating a space where Mosaic Dance Inc can teach dance to children is important.

Melissa currently owns Missy’s Movement with locations in Quincy and Hingham Massachusetts. She loves volunteering with children and looks forward to watching Mosaic Dance Inc where the energy is inspiring.

TREASURER & CO-FOUNDER

Christin Caplan holds a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance from Boston University. She trained at the Lexington School of Ballet, Summer Stages Dance, BU, and Dana Hall. Performance credits include Adagio Dancers, Luminarium Dance Company, Rainbow Tribe's Embrace Dance Company, Linx, and Tribe the Dance Company. Christin has been on the dance faculty at Boston University, the American Chinese Art Society, Brookline Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, and the Colonial Figure Skating Club. Christin is currently on the dance faculty at MIT, the Lexington School of Ballet,Dancers Workshop in Sudbury, and the Burlington Recreation Department.

SECRETARY

Erin Began her Dance Training at Dance Track Studio in Wakefield, Massachusetts. She then went on to attend Keene State College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a specialization in Choreography and Performance. While at Keene State, Erin’s piece “In Flight” was chosen to represent the school at The American College Dance Association Conference, and in the 40th Anniversary of an Evening of Dance. In addition to choreographing, Erin has also performed a number of times at the American College Dance Association conference and in an Evening of dance. She has worked with choreographers such as Monica Bill Barnes, Adele Myers, Rebecca Stenn, Cynthia McLaughlin, William Seigh, and Marcia Murdock. Erin is a former member of Mosaic, having danced and choreographed with the company between the years of 2015 and 2019. 

Erin is most fulfilled as an educator. She has extensive experience as a dance educator including teaching in studio settings, community settings, and public school settings all over the Boston area. She enjoys sharing her passion with students as they find their own identity in the artistic world. Erin currently holds a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and  works as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in which she supports autistic individuals with socially significant behavior change. She hopes to merge her two passions, dance and behavior analysis, by someday creating an adaptive dance curriculum that is grounded in the principles of ABA.

Erin’s favorite things about mosaic include the energy, passion, commitment, and fun each and every member brings to the table.

BOARD MEMBER

Alissa Pollen trained extensively throughout her childhood at Sandwich Dance Academy, Cape Cod Dance Center, and in the pre-professional program at Boston Ballet School. She earned a BS in Marketing Communications and Advertising from Western New England University, where she was a four-year member of the university dance team and served as team president from her sophomore through senior year.

From 2011 to 2016, Alissa performed with Tribe the Dance Company through Rainbow Tribe Inc. and also performed and choreographed for Embrace Dance Company. Today, along with her career in account management, she is a member of the faculty at Sandwich Dance Academy, where she enjoys sharing her love of dance with the next generation—including her two daughters.
